Witchwood Technē is an interactive sculptural instrument that reimagines computation through Ogham, an early medieval Irish writing system associated with trees, language, and later divinatory traditions. Ogham staves hang from the sides of a handmade cyberdeck and are manipulated by visitors; RFID and custom electronics translate their selections into a computational interface.
The work approaches the occult as a technology of hidden relations: a way of reading signs, correspondences, and forces that resist direct observation. Divination and computation meet here as parallel practices of encoding, interpretation, and prediction.
Drawing together wood, bog, code, and electronics, Witchwood Technē asks what technology might become if its lineage were imagined through relationships among language, landscape, and the more-than-human world. It proposes a speculative cosmotechnics in which computation becomes not simply an instrument of control, but a practice of sensing, interpretation, and listening.
